Learning and Behavior Training

Are you and your child getting discouraged with how hard it is to do academics or practice self-control? Is your child struggling with these learning or behavior challenges?
Picture
Types of Learning Challenges:
  • Struggles to retain essential information
  • Finds writing exhausting
  • Can't process multi-step tasks
  • Tires easily when focus is required
  • Severely imbalanced skill set - good at one thing, but severely struggles with other things
  • Struggles with phonics, math facts, spelling, reading comprehension, or word problems.
  • Was doing OK, but has suddenly reached a wall where abilities can't seem to progress
Types of Behavior Challenges:
  • Defies authority or doesn't recognize boundaries
  • Cannot handle changes to plans or expectations
  • Shows little compassion or interest in socializing
  • Doesn't pick up on social norms naturally
  • Overly shy or refuses new opportunities
  • Cannot follow directions
  • Heavy handed, loud
  • Very picky eater or extreme sensitivity to smells, textures, certain sounds
Have you noticed that teaching to your child's weakness, whether practicing more math facts or lecturing on how to treat other people, doesn't promote any lasting change? Are these issues affecting your child's self-confidence and your family's happiness?

As a long-time tutor, I have mastered the art of accommodating a child's weakness to achieve learning objectives. Yes, I have had the great privilege of helping children move from remedial math to the advanced math class by being sensitive to their pace of learning and their unique learning style. I have worked with special needs children, patiently allowing them to stand, wiggle, or self-soothe  while we are working on new information. I have even been able to help them master academic learning objectives. I know how to fill in learning gaps and be gentle with kids who struggle with behavior.
But, it wasn't until I had my own children, that I developed the burden to move beyond learning accommodation to truly seeking a remedy to empower my children with their own tools to learn and grow! After my son completed the Brain Balance program, I discovered how truly capable he was of reaching his full potential and being able to interact positively with the world around him. Since then, I completed the Brain Connex Professional Training, so that I could administer my own brain training program based on the principles in the book, Disconnected Kids, by Robert Melillo, the co-founder of the Brain Balance Centers. With my training, I was able to remedy my daughter's spelling deficiency with brain training.
Below is a roadmap of how we will work together to retrain your child's brain to learn and self-regulate.
  • FREE Learning and Behavior Assessment - Determine your child's dominant brain hemisphere, dominant senses for easier learning,  and sticky points in your child's brain maturity. This assessment is done in your home or over Zoom.
  • Review Results - We will later meet over Zoom to discuss the results and a customized plan for unlocking your child's potential.
  • Train the Brain - The plan will include movement-based exercises that promote a sense of safety, brain connectivity, and coordination. You will be pleasantly surprised how movement is the key to your child's brain development! The activities will be progressive, so we will meet periodically to assess and add-on/subtract activities. Monthly meetings plus email/phone support costs $100 per month. Children will likely need 3 to 9 months of training, depending on the severity of their challenges. It may be necessary for me to recommend some special equipment.
  • Master the Basics - After 3 to 6 months of brain training, we will transition into filling in the knowledge gaps when your child has the ability to absorb new information and skills. You will be surprised at how easily your child can comprehend and master new things! Each 30-minute tutoring session will cost only $45.
